A Speech Therapist organizes and conducts medically-prescribed therapies, using theory and skills from Speech Therapy to rehabilitate patients toward their improved functional capacity.
Primary accountabilities include:
Evaluating patients to develop and implement treatment and discharge plans.
Monitoring patient progress, and modify goals based on results achieved.
Documenting patient services rendered.
Overseeing work of aides and other staff who assist with rehabilitative services.
Communicating plans, goals, and results to family members and other patient representatives.
Coordinating review and revision of rehabilitative services upon evaluation by the Interdisciplinary Team.
Participating in survey, compliance, and Continuous Quality Improvement processes to meet regulatory and licensing requirements.

Position Specifics
This position is located at Providence Marianwood in Issaquah, WA. This is a day shift on call position.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:Bachelor?s degree in Speech Pathology, including meeting all clinical affiliation requirements and passing a national exam.
Licenses/Certifications:Current American Speech Language Hearing Association certification.
Experience:Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development; ability to assess data reflective of patients? status and apply them to patients? needs. At least one year?s experience in rehabilitative therapy. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.Physical Requirements:? Rarely (less than 1%) ? Kneeling/crawling.
? Occasionally (1% to 33%) ? Crouching, stooping, turning, climbing, balancing, leg/foot use,
? reaching, handling, grasping, pushing/pulling an average of 20 lbs. (maximum 30 lbs.),
? lifting/carrying an average of 5 lbs. (maximum 30 lbs.), highly repetitive work.
? Frequently (34 to 65%) ? Sitting, standing/walking, talking in person and on the phone, hearing in
? person and on the phone, vision (near, far, depth, color), deadlines and shift work.
? Continuously (66% to 100%) ? Interaction with others.
