Title: Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric Surgeons
Location: Alaska-Anchorage

Providence is calling a full time nurse practitioner for the pediatric surgery department at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska.

In this position, you will:
* Initiate and participate in assessment of the quality of care provided to patients in the office and hospital.
* Implement the provisions of quality patient and family care and participates in training of medical providers.
* Screen requests for surgical services with staff for scheduling of appointments for interviews and medical examinations, and for operative procedures.
* Document medical evaluation findings and communicate that information to appropriate staff and/or agencies and serve as a case manager.
* Utilize expanded assessment skills, formulate plans, institute therapy, and gets appropriate staff involved according to patient management plans.
* Act as a liaison between health care providers, patients, families and agencies and assist staff to identify efficient and effective uses of resources.
* Document assessments, plan, interventions, and patient/family response to care.
* Perform medical diagnosis and therapeutics including emergency procedures and participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
* Utilize expanded assessment skills, formulate plans, institute therapy, and monitor patient response according to patient management plans jointly developed by nursing and medical staff.
* Implement care and services that recognize age and diversity specific needs and issues of customers served.

Qualifications for this position include:
* Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program. Master’s degree, preferred.
* Three years in pediatric clinical practice.
* Current ANP Certification as Nurse Practitioner.
* Active Registered Nurse license; pediatric Nurse Practitioner preferred.
* Must be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of path physiology, anatomy, pharmacy and physiology.
