Title: RN Staff IV Nurse
Location: Alaska-Anchorage
Providence is calling a part time registered nurse for the IV Therapy Team at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK.

In this position, you will:
* Provide specialized Adult IV Therapy Act as a resource to nursing, medical staff, and other facilities regarding peripheral and central line intravenous therapy.
* Provide staff education, training, and surveillance in order to prevent central line blood stream infections.
* Support the assessment of patients for appropriate intravenous access and provide appropriate therapeutic interventions.
* Start difficult IVs, insert PICC lines, and provide central line dressing changes.
* Provide patient/family education related to central line dressing and care.
* Perform all job functions in a manner that respects and supports the family centered care model.
* Participate in unit decision making through shared governance.
Qualifications for this position include:
* Must be a graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing.
* Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska at time of hire.
* BLS required at time of hire.
* Must have at least two years registered nurse experience in an adult intensive care setting in an acute care hospital.
* Preferred candidates will possess experience in the insertion and care of PICCs; central line care; and skill in starting difficult peripheral IV lines.
About the Vascular Access Department

The Vascular Access Department is a group of RNs who start PICCs; access ports; change central line dressings; start difficult IVs; and mentor staff on a regular basis. They work in a collegial manner with the staff RN; providers; radiology; and outside vendors in order to provide excellence in intravenous therapy at PAMC. They seek to prevent all central line blood stream infections. They provide early intervention in order to utilize the appropriate line which will be in the best interest of the patient.Job: Nursing - Other
