Title: Phlebotomist
Location: Alaska-Kodiak
Providence is calling an on call phlebotomist for the Laboratory at Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center in Kodiak, AK.

In this position, you will:
* Perform bedside testing according to medical center, laboratory and national standards.
* Collect and label capillary or venipuncture specimens according to established procedure.
* Explain collection procedures clearly to patients and properly identify patients prior to collection.
* Handle requests for special services, i.e. Codes, STAT and Timed draws, prudently and efficiently.
* Receive specimens and transport to correct testing area for processing.
* Identify a need for Advanced Beneficiary Notice for Medicare patients and obtain proper ICD-9 codes and/or patient signature for billing.
Qualifications for this position include:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Completion of a phlebotomy accredited program preferred.
* BLS preferred at the time of hire.
* One (1) year phlebotomy experience preferred.
