Providence is calling a full-time Health Unit Coordinator for a day shift position at Providence Milwaukie Hospital in Milwaukie, OR. 

In this position, you will:

* Be the key person within the nursing unit, who provides overall administrative and technical assistance and support in the operation of the assigned nursing unit.
* Collaborate with other staff and leaders in the development, oversight, and operation of the unit.
* Be the hub of all communication to and from the nursing unit; and greatly impacts the tone” of the unit/shift.


Required qualifications for this position include:
* High school diploma or GED.
* One year experience performing secretarial duties in health care or equivalent training in a recognized health care program.
* Medical terminology course or experience.
* Proficient in word processing, experience with a variety of software applications.


Preferred qualifications for this position include:

* One year of post high school education.
* Satisfactory completion of health unit coordinator course work or equivalent knowledge.
* National Certification Health Unit Coordinator.
* Previous experience as a preceptor/role model.

These systems of care delivery promote evidence-based practice and are designed to support the management of productivity targets within a context of constant change in patient volumes, patient acuity, and available resources.
* Through leading in patient care delivery and planning strategically, consistently supports efficient and effective patient care services, and achieves department objectives that support the organizational and system goals. This includes advancing the strategic vision and goals of the Oregon Nursing Center of Excellence. Constructively manages change and promotes a team-based approach.

Required qualifications for this position include:

* BSN; MSN or Master's in related field.
* National Certification from ANA or Professional Organization in relevant field of clinical expertise strongly recommended.
* Current Oregon RN License.
* BLS Healthcare Provider.
* 6 years in nursing with experience in progressive leadership roles.
