Emergency Medicine Physician - Rural Outreach in Missoula Montana United States

Last updated on May 24 2012

Title: Emergency Medicine Physician - Rural Outreach
Location: Montana-Missoula

Western Montana – St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Center in Missoula, Montana, is seeking an experienced Board Certified Emergency Medicine or FM/IM physician with ER training to provide emergency room coverage at rural, critical access hospital partners in several smaller western Montana cities. These are naturally low-volume ERs, in the range of 5,000-6,000 visits annually, so this is a good fit for a physician desiring a slower pace in a beautiful setting where you will be the sole Emergency physician in some cases. This is a great way to help the people of these communities, and to travel beautiful western Montana, a place of unparalleled natural beauty. New physician will be employed by St. Patrick Hospital & Health Sciences Center, the renowned Providence Health & Services hospital and research center in Missoula. Excellent compensation and benefits.
Missoula and western Montana offer spectacular Rocky Mountain living. Blue-ribbon trout streams, snow-capped peaks, vast pine forests and miles of trails make western Montana and eastern Idaho an outdoor enthusiast's dream. The area also features family-friendly communities with excellent schools from elementary through university (including UM, Montana's largest university, in Missoula), fine dining and other urban amenities. The climate is relatively mild; winters, for example, are warmer here than in much of the Midwest and Northeast. Western Montana summers are absolutely glorious, with long, adventure-inspiring days, starry nights and fresh mountain air.
St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Center is a pillar of the medical and business community in western Montana. Our 253-bed tertiary center has been named a Top 100 Hospital by Thomson (formerly Solucient). We house the world-renowned International Heart Institute of Montana and collaborate with the University of Montana and others to leverage scientific expertise for the benefit of our patients.
