The Salmon area and western Montana offer spectacular Rocky Mountain living. Salmon is at the foot of the beautiful Beaverhead Mountains, about halfway between Boise and Missoula. Salmon is a historical Western town with a tight-knit community of about 850 families. Blue-ribbon trout streams, snow-capped peaks, vast pine forests and miles of trails make western Montana and eastern Idaho an outdoor enthusiast's dream. But the area also features family-friendly communities with excellent schools from elementary through university (including UM, Montana's largest university, in Missoula), fine dining and other urban amenities. The climate is relatively mild; winters, for example, are warmer here than in much of the Midwest and Northeast. Western Montana summers are absolutely glorious, with long, adventure-inspiring days, starry nights and fresh mountain air.
St. Patrick is part of Providence Health & Services, a not-for-profit network of hospitals, clinics and physician partners in Alaska, California, Montana, Oregon and Washington. Providence has a proud 150-year history in the West, and we continue to grow with the communities we serve. With more than 300 physician opportunities in virtually all specialties, we offer physicians diverse lifestyle choices, flexible work arrangements and robust practice support.
