Title: ED Coder
Location: Oregon-Portland
Providence is calling an on-call ED Coder for a rotating/variable shift position at Providence Office Park in Portland, OR.

In this position, you will:

* Apply principles of coding, National and PHS coding guidelines, current clinical standards, CMS requirements to select the correct ICD-9-CM, E&M, CPT and facility codes and charges.
* Abstract established data from each case and determines accuracy and completeness of ED medical record.

Required qualifications for this position include:

* Minimum requirements are proficiency in medical terminology and current enrollment in AHIMA-accredited Health Information Technology program, second year, with subsequent certification as CCA, progressing to CCS or CCS-P OR RHIT.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

* Graduate of an AHIMA-accredited Health Information Technology program or self-study course and a passing score on the national certification examination (RHIT).
