RN-Charge Nurse -Orthopedics in Portland Oregon United States

Title: RN-Charge Nurse -Orthopedics
Location: Oregon-Portland
Providence is calling a full-time Charge Nurse for a night shift position at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.

In this position, you will:
* Provide unit/department leadership and supervise clinical staff.
* Provide and supervise professional, independent evidence-based nursing care for Providence patients using the nursing process, consistent with an Oregon RN license. Under the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, the professional registered nurse is legally accountable for diagnosing and treating human responses to actual or potential health problems.
* Apply knowledge drawn from broad, in-depth education in the social and physical sciences in assessing, planning, ordering, giving, delegating, teaching and supervising nursing care that promotes patients optimal health and independence.
* Have a broad range of general nursing knowledge and competency. In addition, development and validation of knowledge and skills essential the assigned department, patient population and/or practice area are essential.
* Participate in and lead clinical teams and may supervise or delegate to licensed practical nurses (LPNs), certified nursing assistants (CNAs) and other health care workers.

Qualifications for this position include:
* BSN required.
* National Certification from ANA or Professional Organization in relevant field of clinical expertise strongly recommended.
* Current, unencumbered Oregon RN license.
* Current ACLS Certification.
* Current Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
* Current PALS required (PALS not required for CCU, ICVR or MedSurg).
* 4 years in Nursing with experience in clinical leadership roles.
