In this position, you will:
* Provide and supervise professional, independent nursing care for Providence patients that is as evidence-based as possible. Care is based in the nursing process and is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act.
* Apply knowledge of assessing, planning, ordering, giving, delegating, teaching and supervising professional nursing care delivery that promotes patients’ optimal health and independence.
* Have a broad range of general nursing knowledge and expertise. In addition, development and validation of knowledge and skills essential to the assigned department, patient population and/or practice area are crucial.
* Participate in and lead clinical teams and may supervise, assign or delegate to licensed practical nurses (LPN’s), certified nursing assistants (CNA’s) and other health care workers.


Required qualifications for this position include:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing strongly preferred, required for newly hired Registered Nurses as of 2018.
* Current unencumbered Oregon RN license.
* Current BLS required at time of hire. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for Health Care Provider certification required within 6 months of hire.
* Relevant training and certifications applicable to the position, as specified by the Nurse Manager.
* 1 year experience as Circulator in Operating Room setting.


Preferred  qualifications for this position include:
* One year acute care RN experience.
* Scrub experience, AORN (Association of Operating Room Nurse) specialty certification.

* Work within a defined organizational structure to identify cost saving opportunities related to improved product, service and process standardization and utilization.
* Develop reports and conduct analysis to identify opportunities and implement recommendations.
* Organize, implement and maintain the infrastructure for a Region approach to Surgery Value Analysis.
* Have direct interaction with clinicians, executive leadership, hospital and department directors, physicians and vendors in matters related to the clinical acceptability, cost, utilization and implementation of surgical products and other related supplies.
* Develop usage and/or savings reports and engage clinicians and practitioners in utilization reviews and standardization activities.
* Represent PH&amp;S-OR in professional organizations and activities.

Qualifications for this position include:
* Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing.
* Change Acceleration Process &amp; Workout, and/or LEAN certified; or must be certified within 1 year of hire.
* Relevant certification or continuing education from a professional, national organization preferred.
* 5 years of current Surgery Department experience or 5 years of current Cardiovascular OR experience.
