Providence is calling a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant a day shift position at Providence Sports Care Center in Portland, OR. 

In this position, you will:

* Under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist provides skilled physical therapy to patients/clients with a wide variety of diagnoses and disabilities, taking into account individual patient‘s special physical or age-related needs.
* Have skills in patient/client treatment, as well as professional consultations to achieve maximum patient/client independence in accordance with individual‘s functional level and potential.


Required qualifications for this position include:

* Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
* Current Physical Therapist Assistant licensure through the State of Oregon, or temporary license if new graduate awaiting licensing exam results.
* AHA BLS required within 30 days of hire.
* Occasionally a position will require specialized physical therapist assistant training or experience to meet a particular department need.
* Must be able to travel between sites in a timely manner as assigned.

* Function as a member of the inter-disciplinary team.



Required qualifications for this position include:

* Graduate of a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program with current registration and license as a COTA in the State of Oregon.
* BLS (Healthcare Provider).
* Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation and auto Insurance.
* Minimum of one year’s experience in working with a frail or elderly population.
* In Compliance with the Department of Human Services (DHS), criminal background check is required for this position, based on assigned duties. Fingerprinting may also be required.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

* Minimum of one year’s experience in the area of Occupational Therapy as a COTA is preferred.

Qualifications for this position include:

* BS or MS in Occupational Therapy or Speech Language Pathology
* Current licensure to practice in the state of Oregon
* BLS certification
* Valid drivers license for local travel
* Two years experience in geriatric rehabilitation
* Three - five years of experience working with a frail or elderly population
* Minimum three years experience leading, supervising and mentoring rehabilitation staff
* Experience in quality improvement methods and projects preferred
