Title: Enterprise Backup Engineer II
Location: Washington-Renton

Providence is calling a Enterprise Backup Engineer 2 to Providence Health & Services in Renton WA., or Portland, OR (Tigard/Beaverton)
The Enterprise Backup Engineer is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting the Tivoli Storage Manager environment including storage area networks (SAN), network attached storage (NAS), content addressable storage (CAS), and tape/tape library technologies, and the supporting management software thereof.

In this position you will:

Perform routine Backup Administration tasks following documented procedures.

Perform other Backup Administration tasks with minimal supervision.
*
Provide troubleshooting on most issues. Provide performance monitoring and tuning.
*
Perform routine hardware maintenance with and without the support of Field Service Engineers as necessary.
*
Document server configurations and internal procedures. Develop standard operating procedures
*
Collaborate on project planning with other Server Engineers. Manage backup components of a project. Implement projects with minimal supervision.
*
Provide technical peer review and consulting services.
Required qualifications for this position include:
* A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent combination of experience and education
* A minimum of five (5) years server administration experience
* At least two (2) years experience in Unix systems
* Also required is at least two (2) years of industry experience supporting a 24x7 backup environment
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
* One (1) year storage
* Two (2) years Tivoli Storage Manager TSM or equivalent
* AIX
