Title: Registered Nurse OB Navigator
Location: California-Torrance
Providence is calling a OB Navigator Registered Nurse to Providence Little Comapany of Mary Medical Center Torrance in Torrance CA.
We are seeking an OB Navigator.

In this position you will:
* Serve as a High Risk OB patient advocate.
* Act as a resource for High Risk diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care by offering a High Risk OB component within the nursing New Employee Orientation, and as a part of ongoing in-house clinical education.
* On an ad hoc observation basis, work with nursing management to in-service staff RN’s when improvement opportunities are identified in the course of rounding.
* Works with management to monitor and support development of protocols, standards of care. Develop High Risk OB support groups, classes and/or meetings for patients.
* Participate in community education events and programs related to High Risk OB.
* Serve as liaison to OB Physician practices to facilitate improvement of patient education within the physician practices aimed at increased compliance and decreased readmissions.
* Available to act as a consultant and High Risk OB patient advocate to care facilities on an ad hoc basis to address issues concerning specific patients or general staff education.
* Meet annual competency and retraining requirements.
* Attend meetings as required.

Required qualifications for this position include:
• BSN graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in state of California
• Minimum 2-years High Risk OB experience as an RN in acute L&D
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart
Association
• Current ACLS certification
• Current NRP certification

Preferred qualifications for this position include:
• Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN)

The Women’s Health Department recognizes that services are best performed through inter-disciplinary collaboration with active family participation. The unit has 22 LDRP Rooms, deliver approximately 3000 babies annually and also attend to high-risk antepartum Moms.
