Title: Behavioral Health Clinician

Providence is calling a behavioral health clinician for the Providence Valdez Counseling Center in Valdez, AK.

In this position, you will:
* Provide quality individual, group, family and marital therapy with children, adolescents and adults.
* Provide the necessary assessment, treatment and referral for clients.
* Coordinate treatment planning with other agencies, such as schools, juvenile probation, psychologist, psychiatrist and other agencies.
* Participate in 24-hour on-call crisis intervention and emergency service rotation.
* Determine need for voluntary and involuntary psychiatric hospitalizations and assume responsibility for the coordination of associated legal procedures.

Qualifications for this position include:
* Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Education or other related behavioral health field as listed below.
* State of Alaska license in a behavioral health field, ex: LCSW, (Licensed Clinical Social Worker); LMFT, (Licensed Marital and Family Therapist); or LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) is required. Will consider individuals with equivalent licensure who are able to transfer licensure to Alaska within one year of hire.
* Substance Abuse Professional Certification (e.g. CDC I or II, National Master Addiction Counselor) required within one year of hire.
* Successful candidates will possess at least one year of counseling experience.
* Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
* Must be proficient with variety of computer software applications in word processing to report information to the State of Alaska and other regulatory agencies as required.

Providence Valdez Behavioral Health is a community based behavioral health service, which provides a variety of outpatient treatment services to assist adults, children and families.
